What to Wear:
When going for a surf lesson, it's important to wear the right gear to stay comfortable and protected. Here’s what you should consider:
Swimsuit or Boardshorts: Wear a swimsuit or boardshorts that fit well and allow for full mobility. Avoid anything too loose that could get in the way or get washed away.
Rash Guard or Surf Shirt: A rash guard or surf shirt helps prevent chafing from the surfboard and offers some protection from the sun.
Reef-Safe Sunscreen: Even with a rash guard, you’ll want to apply reef-safe sunscreen to exposed areas like your face, neck, and hands to protect against UV rays.
Hat (Optional): A surf hat or cap with a chin strap can protect your face and eyes from the sun, but make sure it’s secure so it doesn’t wash away.
Hair Tie: If you have long hair, tie it back to keep it out of your face while surfing.
Make sure whatever you wear is comfortable and secure, so you can focus on enjoying your lesson without distractions.
Preparing :
Preparing for a surf lesson involves both mental and physical readiness to ensure you have the best experience possible. Here’s how to get ready:
Get a Good Night’s Sleep
Rest well the night before to ensure you’re energized and alert for your lesson.
Hydrate and Eat Light
Drink plenty of water before your lesson, as surfing is physically demanding. Eat a light meal that won’t weigh you down—think fruits, nuts, or a smoothie.
Practice a Positive Mindset
Approach the lesson with an open and positive mindset. Surfing can be challenging, but staying relaxed and patient is key to enjoying the process.
Listen to Your Instructor
Pay close attention to your instructor’s safety tips and instructions. Don’t hesitate to ask questions if something isn’t clear.
Prepare for the Unexpected
Remember that surfing is as much about adapting to nature as it is about technique. Waves and weather can be unpredictable, so be ready to go with the flow.
By preparing in advance, you’ll be more comfortable, confident, and ready to make the most of your surf lesson.
